Here at FreeStuff.me, we know how much you freebie hunters love your beauty freebies. We discovered that Boots are giving away free samples of Garnier’s new BB (which stands for blemish balm) Cream. You may have heard of it. Have you applied for your free sample sachet yet? If not then click HERE to order yours.
The full-sized version of this product will set you back £9.99 for 50 ml in the shops, so a try-before-you-buy sample is very handy if you’re not sure if the cream will suit your skin.
Dubbed the ‘Miracle Skin Perfecter’ this new BB cream is said to be a versatile, all-round product which claims to:
Act as a make-up primer and tinted moisturiser that evens out blotchy skin tone
Promote a healthy glow
Blur skin blemishes and imperfections,
Act as a sun block to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful rays
Smooth out tiny fine lines and wrinkles
The product originated in Asia where it is much revered as the secret to beautiful skin, apparently.
We recently received our free sample of this much-anticipated new product, so we decided to put it to the test and share our findings with you.
We started by cleansing the face thoroughly, but not moisturising as the BB cream acts as a moisturiser, amongst all its other alleged all-singing-all-dancing properties.
When squeezed from the sachet, the product has a thick but not cloggy consistency. It feels smooth, light and creamy when rubbed between the fingers.
Applied to a freshly-cleansed face, the product glides on effortlessly and blends easily to give what we think is excellent coverage, considering no moisturiser was used or concealer applied under it. It feels moisturising without heaviness and leaves your skin with a certain iridescence rather than the shiny finish left by some tinted moisturisers. Despite the cream’s thick consistency, it spreads suprisingly well and evenly so you don’t need to use a huge amount to get a good finish. We did find though, that it dries rapidly, so once it’s on your face, you need to blend it quite quickly.
We found that the product had good staying power throughout the day, with a little shininess appearing after about four hours. Any oily breakthroughs can be blotted with a little pressed powder in much the same way as you would with a regular foundation, to keep your face looking matte. The moisturising properties of the cream keep your skin feeling hydrated and smooth throughout the day. When the time came to remove the product, we found it was quickly and effectively removed with a little foaming facial wash and rinsed off easily.
To summarise, Garnier BB Cream appears to deliver all the claims it makes and really makes the most of your skin. We think it’s an essential item in any make-up kit, once you’ve tried it, you won’t look back.
